PE&RC Weekend

(8, 9 and 10 October 2010)

SCOPE

The idea of this weekend is to make PhD students more familiar with what to expect during the PhD track and how to avoid major catastrophes and disappointments. Focus will be on the pit-falls you can encounter during the PhD and what the criteria are for a successful PhD within 4 years. Besides an introduction to the PhD programme, the role of the Graduate School plays as a process facilitator and activities that focus on important hurdles during the PhD, the weekend is also meant to get to know fellow PhD's and learn from them how they tackle issues. More specifically the following issues will be discussed/presented during the weekend:

Furthermore, the idea is to create a situation where PhD's will be able to identify themselves within a larger group of PhD's who they can turn to in the future. This is of particular importance for the foreign PhD's but also for Dutch PhD's who are not from Wageningen. Thus, significant time will be spent on leisure and social activities.

TARGET GROUP

Although some introductory issues are addressed the weekend is meant for all PE&RC PhD's.
