Scope

A symposium to get to know colleagues and their research areas from another international university, to exchange ideas, and to establish new cooperations. During the symposium we will get inspired by four invited speakers within the following four themes: plant breeding for a circular bio-economy, improving plants for sustainable intensification of agriculture under a changing climate, from field phenotyping to phenomics and speed breeding, and knowledge-intensive breeding in the omics era.

Program

The symposium will consist of four sessions. Each session will start with an inspirational talk within the theme of the session. Speed talks, oral presentations and poster presentations by the participants will give us insight into each other’s work and stimulate fruitful group discussions. In the group discussion we will come up with ideas for future collaborations, research questions or potential for joint publications, among others, which will be documented and sent out to the participants after the symposium.

Four invited speakers will inspire the audience at the symposium within the following themes:

This symposium is only meant for staff, postdocs and PhDs of SLU and Wageningen University and Research and non-Wageningen PhDs of the Graduate Schools PE&RC and EPS.

  PARTICIPATION FEE
PE&RC  /  EPS  PhD candidates with an approved TSP € 75,-
All others € 150,-

1 The course fee includes coffee/tea + snacks, simple snack (day 1), lunch (day 2 and 3) and dinner (day 2). It does not include accommodation
