New PE&RC courses

Just recently, we received a suggestion for a new PE&RC Course on "Geocomputation using Python". In short, the aim of this course would be to teach participants how to conduct spatial analysis using Python. In addition to generic data processing packages (e.g., Numpy), the focus would be on raster and vector processing packages (e.g., GeoPandas, shapely, rasterio), their visualisation and applications, as well as Python's integration with external open-source spatial software such as QGIS and GDAL. The idea would be a 5-day course. Potential lecturers in this course could be Giuseppe Amatulli (Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies), Judith Verstegen (University of Munster), Tomislav Hengl (Open Geo Hub), or Corné Vreugdenhil (Wageningen University). Here, we would just like to enquire how many of you would be interested in participating in such a course.

PhD weekends

Normally, our PE&RC weekends are organised at three moments in your PhD and always in the weekends. We are wondering wether this is the most preferred moment.
