Various policy initiatives in Europe and the Netherlands strive to move the agricultural system towards greater crop diversity in time and space as a means to revert biodiversity decline, mitigate and adapt to climate change, and enhance socio-economic resilience of the food system. This mini-symposium will feature presentations highlighting four perspectives on crop diversification: crop diversification as a change of the socio-technical system; as a change in the relation between researchers and farmers; as a change in technology; and as a change in the way research projects can support the transition. The mini-symposium is organized on the occasion of Lenora Ditzler’s PhD thesis defence on 21 October 2021.
