Postdoctoral Offer at the EEAD-CSIC Zaragoza (Spain)

Postdoctoral Research Position Announcement

The Estación Experimental de Aula Dei-CSIC in Zaragoza, Spain, announces a postdoctoral position funded by the MaX CSIC project.

The successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with EEAD’s scientific project in one or more of the following research topics:

  1. Resilient agroecosystems. Integrating crop improvement with genotype-environment-microbiome interactions to develop plant materials adapted to climate stress, resource limitations, and sustainable production systems.
  2. Data-driven agricultural and environmental monitoring. This involves using AI, machine learning, and remote sensing to monitor crop performance, soil health, biodiversity, and environmental indicators, in order to enable predictive and precision agriculture.
  3. Climate-Ready Innovation Labs (CRILs). To develop and test environmentally responsible agricultural systems to reduce chemical dependency, optimize resource use, and enhance ecosystem functionality.

Candidate Profile

  • PhD in plant science, agronomy, computational biology, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Strong publication record relative to career stage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and integrate biological and technological approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills and motivation to contribute to a collaborative research environment.

We offer

  • A full‑time, two‑year postdoctoral contract (3,350 € gross per month) in a dynamic research environment.
  • Access to state-of-the-art facilities, including metabolomics, genomics, and phenotyping platforms; an experimental field; and data science/remote-sensing infrastructure.
  • Opportunities for leadership, collaboration, and career development pathways: support for applying to Marie Curie, Juan de la Cierva, Araid, and Ramón y Cajal calls.
