PE&RC Last years weekend

Monday 13 (11:00 hr) - Tuesday 14 July (19:00 hr) 2020

The idea of this "weekend" is to prepare PhD candidates in the last years of their track for the specific challenges that await them. Among these challenges are the preparation of a thesis, meeting the deadlines associated with thesis defence and the choice of a further career inside or outside science. Next to this attention to the challenges, participants are offered the opportunity to reflect on the years spent obtaining a PhD: what have they learned, what have they not learned, what do they want to pursue in the future. Furthermore, the idea is to create a situation where participants will be able to meet their peers, who are also working on the last phase and to whom they can turn for questions and advice. As in the first years weekend, significant time will be spent on leisure and social activities. Finally, the programme is designed to offer opportunities for interaction between first years and last years PhD candidates. Please note that the below programme is the programme before COVID-19. We will adjust the programme to fit the new situation.
