Soil Fertility Management (SFM) through a Transdisciplinary Lens

Soil fertility management is considered a major potential contributor to crop productivity, product quality, and rural development in African farming systems. The challenge to researchers is how to make a sound scientific contribution to soil fertility management while accounting for wider developments and to co-create solutions that work in practice. The aim of this discussion group is to obtain, share and discuss state-of-the-art knowledge and information regarding tools to link the different research fields working on soil fertility management in a broader sense. Discussions will be held every month beginning 14th March 2023. We will:

  • invite relevant specialists to present and discuss their insights based on invited lectures or discussion of recently published papers.
  • Discuss recently published papers of members.
  • Discuss methods of data acquisition or analysis relevant to the topic based on papers or invited lectures from experts.
  • Provide an opportunity for members to present their research to obtain presentation skills and to receive productive inputs by invited world leading researchers.
